AGES is partnering with the Iron Furnace Chapter of Trout Unlimited (TU) and Millcreek Township to conduct a watershed assessment of Cathers Run in northern Clarion County. Cathers Run discharges into the Clarion River immediately downstream of Cooksburg (PA) and is classified by Pennsylvania Fish & Boat Commission as a high-quality coldwater fishery supporting native brook trout reproduction. Iron Furnace TU was awarded a grant from The Coldwater Heritage Partnership to characterize and quantify current conditions in Cathers Run and its tributaries. The Coldwater Heritage Partnership is a cooperative initiative amongst Pennsylvania Trout Unlimited, the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission, and the Foundation for Pennsylvania Watersheds that provides grants to local organizations to protect and conserve Pennsylvania’s coldwater streams. Digital land use mapping, water quality monitoring, in-stream and riparian habitat surveys, and fish community investigations will be completed to identify, design, and develop conservation activities to enhance and protect Cathers Run. AGES staff will begin assessment activities in April 2012 with project completion by August 2013.

ISNetworld® is the global resource for connecting corporations with safe, reliable contractors/suppliers from capital-intensive industries. ISN® collects self-reported conformance information from contractors/suppliers, verifies its accuracy, and then reports the results in an easy-to-follow format. This allows corporations to select those resources that best meet internal and governmental requirements, while providing contractors/suppliers the opportunity to centralize their conformance information, saving time and gaining presence in the marketplace.
Through its innovative data-systems, superior customer service, and global reach, ISN® fosters safer work environments, stronger partnerships, and a healthier bottom-line. Two of our clients require contractors and consultants to belong to ISNetworld® in order to perform certain tasks on projects. The ranking system for the aforementioned clients is A through F. AGES has an "A" ranking with both!

To test the safety of your drinking water, AGES will collect water
samples from the water source(s) located on your property and have an accredited laboratory analyze them for parameters related to the drilling of deep oil/gas wells. AGES will compare the results to applicable State water standards and issue you a summary of the results. The testing will provide a snapshot of current water quality that can be utilized as a resource to determine if your water has been impacted by future nature gas drilling activities.
AGES has over 50 years of combined experience, which includes soil, sediment, and water sampling programs with a focus on groundwater and surface water monitoring projects. Over the past few years, the AGES staff has conducted routine monitoring and sampling programs that have included over 500 wells. AGES has also conducted similar well sampling related to natural gas activities in Southeast Ohio.
