Client: Confidential Utility ClientIn January 1984, AGES’ client, received an operating permit from the Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM) to operate a Type I, Restricted Waste Landfill (RWS-I) at a station, located in the State of Indiana. Under this permit, the client implemented a routine Phase I groundwater monitoring program at the site. In June 2005, the client contracted with AGES to prepare a Revised Sampling and Analysis Plan (SAP) for the site based on comments from IDEM.
Under this contract, AGES provided IDEM with a revised SAP. The SAP outlined procedures for collecting water levels, sampling monitoring wells, and collecting surface water samples at the site. The SAP also indicated what was to be included in the semi-annual reports submitted to the state.
Since 2005, AGES has conducted the semi-annual sampling at the facility. This includes collecting a round of water levels, sampling fourteen (14) well pairs, and collecting several surface water samples for designated analysis. AGES also prepares reports that are submitted to IDEM. The reports include documentation of field activities, groundwater flow maps, statistical results, tabulated data, and comparison of data to regulatory standards (MCLs [Maximum Contaminated Levels], SMCLs [Secondary Maximum Contaminant Levels], Removal Action Levels, and DWELs [Drinking Water Equivalent Levels]).
