Specialists in Environmental Remediation and Water Resource Management
In the context of contaminated sites, Risk Management is defined as the process of gathering data to make informed decisions that will minimize the risk and/or adverse effects to humans and the environment.

RISK ASSESSMENT: (both human health and ecological risk assessments) fall within the broader umbrella of Risk Management.
Environmental Risk Assessments are generally a follow-up component of site assessments and remedial investigations. Therefore, a successful Risk Assessment requires a thorough understanding of the site hydrogeology, contaminant chemistry, environmental fate and transport mechanisms, migration routes and exposure pathways.
AGES brings a multi-disciplinary approach to our Risk Assessment / Risk Management practice through integration of our hydrogeology, chemistry, biology, modeling, vapor intrusion and statistical service areas. Our risk assessment team assists our clients in developing remedial strategies, minimizing remediation costs and/or implementing a risk management approach that permits impacted material to remain in-place but provides protection for human health through exposure pathway elimination.
AGES is experienced in conducting risk assessments under the CERCLA, RCRA, Ohio Voluntary Action Program (VAP), Pennsylvania Land Recycling Program (Act 2), West Virginia Voluntary Remediation Program (VRP), Indiana VRP and other state programs. AGES strives to provide our clients with risk assessments that are technically excellent, timely and cost effective.
