Data Systems Management

With sampling, remedial action, and waste disposal comes large amounts of data. For the efficient management of this data, we offer a wide array of database system management and development services. We have deployed countless Environmental Information and Knowledge Management Systems for our clients, for all types of contamination management projects. Our approach is to develop customized or turn-key solutions that deliver value and exceed customer expectations. This is achieved by having a clear understanding of the client’s requirements, a strong project delivery, and system fine-tuning based on user feedback. Our staff uses the latest web technologies to deliver data or manage client data in-house. Some of the database services we offer include:

1.)  Custom Database Design and Development

  2.)  Data Migration Services

  3.)  Document Management Systems

  4.)  Field Data Collection Systems

  5.)  Laboratory Data Management Services

  6.)  Site Prioritization Systems

  7.)  Waste Data Management Systems

8.)  Web-based Environmental Data Management Systems

9.)  Web-based Geographical Information Systems (GIS)

Cost Modeling

Cost modeling is an effective tool to develop budgets for larger projects and allows clients to make sound business decisions.  Based on structure, knowledge and current technology, cost modeling closely examines engineering requirements and competitive business pricing.  AGES has over 20 years of experience in the cost modeling arena and have helped Fortune 500 clients make successful organizational decisions.

Project-Specific Work Plan Development

AGES works with clients to develop a general response action work plan for site-specific response actions, dependent upon the situation or  administrative order. These response action work plans will highlight and outline a technical approach to determining where response actions are required.  Our technical approach includes site characterization, proposed action levels, summary of response action approach and response action implementation. The work plan will also address procedures for field work and waste management, QA/QC measures, reporting and project scheduling.   We will also submit these work plans to the U.S. EPA for review and approval prior to implementation.

Project Status and Cost Tracking

Controlling costs is perhaps the most complicated, stressful, and tedious undertaking on any project.  It must be handled with care and precision to ensure that all project objectives are met within a defined budget and in the allotted time frame.  AGES has project status and cost tracking experience on thousands of projects, both large and small.  In each project, our staff tracks the progress and costs with customized software to ensure on-time and on-budget project completion; and, we provide periodic updates to all project personnel.

Project Reporting

From industrial facilities to tanks to landfills, AGES has a working knowledge of mandated reporting requirements for a variety of single, routine and annual project events. We have a long history of successful project reporting in a timely manner; and, whether it's our client, a government entity or a separate third-party, we pride ourselves in clear and effective communication with all parties involved with the project.

Project Completion Documentation

AGES ensures timely project completion documentation.  After after work is completed onsite, within a predetermined amount of time, we will submit a Response Action Completion Final Report (RACFR), or similar report, to the appropriate agencies for review.  The completion report will detail the response action process from development of program-specific action levels, to delineation sampling, to response action summaries, to waste management; and, if needed, recommended further action.  Tables, figures, and site photographs will be used to document the completion of the response actions.

Public Relations, Agency Communications and Expert Witness/Litigation Support

We have used our extensive contaminant management and compliance experience to support communications between our clients, members of the public and environmental agencies.  Through strategic communications, we better understand the client’s needs and are able to complement the organization’s internal resources.  Additionally, we can develop, effectively communicate and negotiate our client’s environmental practices and corporate message to the public or environmental agencies. Finally, our qualified staff of environmental professionals have experience as both litigation support and expert witness in legal matters.

Statistical Analysis of Monitoring Data

AGES’ has extensive experience with several types of statistical methods recommended for a variety of groundwater situations. We have been complying with the statistical requirements for groundwater monitoring programs at landfill and other units in several states, including Pennsylvania, Ohio and Indiana.
